This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from zuzepet.com (the "Site").

Personal information I collect

When you visit the Site, I automatically collect certain information about your device, including your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, I collect information about the individual web pages or products you view, what website or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. I refer to this automatically-collected information as "Device Information."

I collect Device Information using the following technologies:

  • Cookies — data files placed on your device, often including an anonymous unique identifier. For more information, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.
  • Log files — track actions on the Site and collect data including your IP address, browser type, internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
  • Web beacons, tags, and pixels — electronic files used to record how you browse the Site, including the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, which helps me understand ad performance and show relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram.

Additionally, when you make or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, I collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information, email address, and phone number. I refer to this as "Order Information."

If you sign up for my newsletter, I also collect your email address (and, if provided, your name) through Mailchimp, my email marketing platform.

If you leave a product review, your name, email address, and review content are collected and displayed through Judge.me, my reviews platform.

When I talk about "Personal Information" in this Privacy Policy, I am talking about both Device Information and Order Information.

How do I use your personal information?

I use the Order Information I collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment, arranging shipping, and providing invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, I use this Order Information to:

  • Communicate with you;
  • Screen orders for potential risk or fraud; and
  • When in line with the preferences you've shared with me, provide you with information or advertising about my products, including through email newsletters (via Mailchimp).

I use the Device Information I collect to help screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize my Site — for example, by generating analytics about how customers browse and interact with the Site through Google Analytics, and to assess the performance of my marketing and advertising campaigns through Google Ads and the Meta Pixel.

As described above, I use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications I believe may be of interest to you, through Google Ads and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) advertising. Please note that I do not alter my Site's data collection and use practices when I see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.

Your rights

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information I hold about you and to ask that it be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact me using the information below.

If you are a European resident, I note that I am processing your information in order to fulfill contracts I might have with you (for example, if you place an order through the Site), or otherwise to pursue my legitimate business interests listed above. Please note that your information may be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States, where some of my service providers (such as Shopify and Google) are based.

Data retention

When you place an order through the Site, I will maintain your Order Information for my records unless and until you ask me to delete this information.

Changes

I may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to my practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.

Minors

The Site is not intended for individuals under the age of 16.
